Taste the Season takes place Saturdays, 9am - noon
What to do with those large Italian and American eggplants? This week, learn to how to roast eggplants to make delicious dishes from India to the Middle East to Japan. Lean how simple it is to freeze this smoky summer treasure for quick and easy meals in the dead of winter.

Kids, stop by the Youth Booth to test your memory with our Fruit & Veggie Memory Game. Try your best and win a prize!
Music at the Market: Lucky Diop
Music at the Market is Saturdays, 10:30am - 12:30pm
Lucky Diop is back for an encore performance! Enjoy the rich Senegalese sounds of Lucky and his son from 10:30am - 12:30pm this Saturday at Fondy. Born in Ziguinchor, Senegal, Lucky belongs to the Diola (jola) tribe, one of the rare tribes where everybody is a musician! Lucky's specialties include the djembe (a percussion instrument) and the kora (a stringed instrument). He has extensive training in Senegalese music and dance, and has performed worldwide. Feel free to ask Lucky questions about the instruments he uses and music he plays.

Take the Eat Local Challenge!
Milwaukee's Eat Local Challenge takes place the first two weeks of September. The Challenge encourages people to increase their consumption of local food. Eating locally helps the environment, the local economy and our community. Plus, local food just plain tastes better! New Vendor Spotlight: Avia Cakes
Please help us welcome new vendor Telashay Swope-Farr, baker and owner of Avia Cakes. Ms. Swope-Farr has an outstanding selection of dessert cakes - 18 different flavors, to be exact! These include everything from the popular caramel and red velvet cakes to various rich, homemade frostings. Last Saturday was Avia Cakes' first appearance at market and customers loved the cakes so much that Ms. Swope-Farr sold out!
