This Saturday at Fondy
Taste the Season: Lebanese Pickled Turnips
Taste the Season takes place Saturdays, 9am - noon
Bright pink pickled turnips are ubiquitous in Middle Eastern markets, restaurants, and homes. If you like pickles, you'll love the distinctive taste of Lebanese Pickled Turnips. Dyed naturally with raw beetroot, rich, cherry-colored juices color white turnips to produce a delectible treat that is a feast for both the eyes and mouth. Taste samples and learn how to make these easy refrigerator pickles from Master Food Preserver Lisa Kingery at the Taste the Season tent from 9am - noon.
Youth Booth: Fondy Food, Inside & Out
Youth Booth takes place Saturdays, 9am - noon
How well do you really know your Fondy fruits and veggies? Kids, test your knowledge with our Inside-Outside Matching Game this Saturday at the Youth Booth from 9am - noon.
Music at the Market: 4th Street Elevator
Enjoy lively Gypsy swing from Milwaukee's own 4th Street Elevator. Hailing from the artistic Riverwest neighborhood, the band's members play bass, guitar, mandolin and violin. The group's hot club style with some Latin influences has been inspired by musicians such as Django Reinhardt, Stepane Grappeli, Oscar Aleman, David Grisman, Eddie Lang, Harmonious Wail, Don Stiernberg, and Jethro Burns. 4th Street Elevator plays at Fondy this Saturday from 10:30am - 12:30pm.
