You're invited to the fourth annual season opening of Fondy Farmers Market this Saturday, June 25th! Opening Day means the return of farmers and long-awaited fresh, locally grown springtime treats like strawberries and spinach. Meet your farmers and your neighbors at your favorite farmers market for a fun-filled day of entertainment and activites for the whole family. The market is open from 7am - 3pm and entertainment and activities take place from 9am - 1pm. The event is free and all are welcome. The event takes place rain or shine (Fondy is a covered, open-air market). Free parking is available in an adjacent lot and on the street.

More than 30 market vendors will be present opening day, including Craigland Farms, Brehmer’s U-pick Farms, and Walnut Way Conservation Corp. (the only producer of honey in central city Milwaukee). New vendors include Serenity Soap Works & Oak Hollow Acres, Pam Ella’s Artisan Patisserie, and Bridie’s Garden Market. Shoppers should come hungry for the tasty treats they’ve been craving all winter from returning vendors Yammie Pie Co., Egg Roll Lady, Vi Nai Cafe, and Corn Man, plus BBQ and soul food prepared by Checker Board Foods, Fondy’s newest prepared foods vendor.

Event Schedule for Opening Day:

7am - 11am: BBQ Cook-off on-site at market

9am - noon: Taste the Season cooking demo - sweet & savory crepes using spring veggies and strawberries

9am - noon: Youth Booth kids tent - plant your favorite herb and watch it grow!

9am - 1pm: Face Painting

9:45am - 10am: National Anthem performed by Louis Ketchman, a talented young saxophonist from MPS' Maryland Avenue Montessori School

9:45am - 10am: Opening Remarks from Fondy Executive Director Young Kim

10am - 10:30am: Aarabhi Bollywood Dance Troupe

10:30am - 11:30am: OH!NO! The Miltown Clown - Who's the baddest mime/clown in all Miltown? Who juggles, tumbles and plays around? 

11am - 11:30am: BBQ Judging & Awards

11:30am - noon: Zen Dragonfly's NIA movement demonstration

Noon - 12:30pm: BBQ Judging & Awards

12:30pm - 1pm: Amiret el Sahara Egyptian Belly Dance
