The Fondy Beet - December 2010

Fondy Farm to Benefit Farmers & Customers

Fondy Food Center is set to launch an 80 acre farm north of Milwaukee this coming spring. The project will lease high-quality, affordable and secure land to Fondy's landless, small-scale farmers, thereby ensuring the supply of fresh, affordable and locally grown produce to Milwaukee. Young Kim, Fondy's Executive Director, recently spoke about this innovative project on WUWM's Lake Effect. You may listen to the program by clicking here.

    Call for Recipes: Community Cookbook

Fondy Food Center, along with Lindsay Heights Neighborhood Health Alliance, is currently creating the 2010 Savor the Season Community Cookbook. This is a special cookbook because it will contain much-loved recipes from our community. No, they don't have to be vegetarian and yes, they may contain chocolate! The important thing is that these are recipes chosen by you, our friends and neighbors, because YOU like them. People whose recipes are used will receive a free cookbook. For more information and to submit your recipe, please see the Recipe Collection Form on Fondy's website. (Note: The original submission deadline of September 30th has been extended - we're still accepting recipes!)
